Our first ever Day Retreat at Grace Yoga Studio:
A few hours of escape and renewal on Saturday, April 21 could be just the "reset" you need as we enter those hot and busy summer months.
You'll experience everything from a "do your own thing" rhythmic yoga style to a silent "meditation" walk through the woods.
Want undivided attention about "that one" pose? You got it! Deep release in the tissue that holds ALL our negative feelings? Prepare to let go!
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.)
$100 per person -- Half due at registration, half by April 12.
Lunch, snacks, water, tea -- and a cool gift bag included!
9:45 a.m. Arrival/Check In
10 a.m. Welcome (Katy) and Opening Devotion (Jan)
Short Qi Gong Flow - All
10:20 a.m. Break - Find the snacks, potty, Zen Zones!
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Buti Flow Yoga -- and laughter! (Katy)
11:35 a.m. - 12:35 p.m. - Asana Workshop. Pick the posture you want to refine. You CAN do it! (Katy & Jan)
12:35 - 1 p.m. - Lunch. A light, nourishing and freshly prepared meal.
1:05 - 1:30 p.m. - One of the most fulfilling parts of our day: A Silent Meditation Walk.
Please bring comfortable walking shoes.
(Rain alternate: Yoga Conversation "Cafe," a brief but enlightening approach to a new way of communicating. Absolutely everyone who tries this comes away feeling better about self-expression!)
1:35 - 2:30 p.m. - Yin Yoga, retreat-style! Yes, we'll hold hip openers for several breaths each -- but with props that make this more like Spa Day. Relax AND rid your body of tension and toxins. It's the perfect lead-in for our last session of the day. (Jan, Katy)
2:30 - 3 p.m. - The knowledge and practice of meditation. (Jan)
Have a posture in mind for our Asana Workshop, one that challenges or frustrates you, or one you think would be fun to know!
Please bring a cozy sweater and comfortable walking shoes for our Walking Meditation. There will be "Ribbon" Markers to guide you, should you choose to linger anywhere on the trail.
It's important to let us know if you have any food allergies or special nutritional needs or restrictions. We'll do our best to accommodate you. And there will be light snacks for you to grab throughout the day.
Lastly, we'll make sure you know where the Zen Zones are! These are specially designated seating areas (inside and out) if you wish to take a few minutes' break in the action of any session. Feel free to just "sit a spell!"
